- A legendary publication edited for a time by Vittorio Mussolini.
- Ironically became the exact breeding ground for the anti-fascist Neorealism movement.
- 1st series: 1936 to 1943 - 170 issues (Editor: Vittorio Mussolini).
- 2nd series: 1948-1954 (Publisher: Ottavia Vitagliano, new numbering).
- 3rd series: 1954-1956 (continued numbering). 169 issues in 2nd & 3rd series.
BIANCO E NERO
1937-2021
- Ceased publication
- The oldest and most prestigious Italian Academic film journal.
- Published by the famous Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia.
- The absolute standard for film history, theory, and archiving.
- No issues from October 1943 to September 1947. In October 1947 a "Nuova Serie" started with V1, #1 but in March 1948 the old numbering resumed with Vol 9 #1.
- Issues from 1990 to 1997 were monographs.
- Called "B/N" since 2003.
FILMCRITICA
1950-2020
- Ceased publication
- An elite intellectual journal heavily inspired by French film philosophy.
- Known for structuralist text analysis and deep championing of auteur cinema.
- 10 issues per year.
- Number 700 was the last printed issue.
CINEMA NUOVO
1952-1996
- Ceased publication
- Founded by the radical critic Guido Aristarco.
- The premier leftist, Marxist-leaning voice of post-war Italian cinema.
CINEFORUM

- The official publication of the Italian Federation of Cineclubs (FIC).

- Founded in 1961 by Camillo Bassotto and Francisco Dorigo.
- Underwent a radical transformation with issue #0 of 2021, becoming a quarterly with a new graphic design and a more selective identity.
